Here it is, an upgraded version of our hugely popular 13-place practice stand/station.  The improvements are numerous and the result is a hefty, capable practice station that will more than suit the needs of lock picking enthusiasts and security instructors, as well as working locksmiths who enjoy regular practice sessions to keep valuable skills honed.

This version has addressed a couple of areas that we felt needed improvement:

-Gone are the slanted thumb screws coming in from the front of the board which were needed to hold mortise cylinders in place

    This change removes the impediment that the thumb screws presented when working with the upper row of practice locks.      Originally, the slanted thumb screws were getting in the way of tension wrenches in some cases, depending somewhat on a user's technique.  With these thumb screws removed, no such impediment exists.

- The lower row, for mortise or rim cylinders, has its own tighteners - 5 thumb screws coming up from the bottom, which firmly affix the mortise cylinders in place and prevents them from moving, rotating or otherwise not staying in place.  Simply insert the mortise cylinders that you'll be working with before you place the main board on the side supports.

- The mortise cylinders also have a secondary lock -- we've created a "fixing tab" that engages the shallow channel at the top of the cylinder, where the springs retainer is situated.  This alone prevents the mortise cylinder from rotating.

- The base is wider now -- allowing for use of a C-clamp as an alternative to the double sided tape and/or wood screws that come with the stand.

- The main board itself is TWICE the thickness of the original board, providing much greater strength and rigidity.

These improvements make the Gen 2 version a must-have practice station -- one you'll actually look forward to using.

Like the original, this stand accommodates up to 8 KIK (key-in -knob) cylinders and up to 5 mortise or rim cylinders.  It is supplied with 2 mounting screws and 2 strips of double-sided mounting tape, giving you a choice of mounting.  You can also purchase the stand with a complete set of locks, comprised of a progressive set of 8 KIK cylinders with SC keyway, and a set of 5 mortise cylinders with random (but challenging) pinnings, also with SC keyway.  The progressive set is just as the name implies -- each cylinder has 1 more pin tumbler in its combination than the previous cylinder, starting with a single-pinned practice cylinder up through a 6-pinned cylinder, and then two additional (to make a total of 8) with 6 pin combos, one with spool drivers and one with serrated drivers.  Each lock comes with a working key, and all locks are rekeyable using standard rekeying techniques.

CONSTRUCTION:  The entire stand is built with high quality acrylic, keeping the weight down without sacrificing durability.
