Get impression marks, not tooth marks

While the use of common locking pliers is common with a lot of locksmiths when doing impressioning, it is not ideal if the finished key is to be handed to the customer -- a normal scenario when working in the field.

It's best to use a tool made to securely hold the key blank while getting the key impression marks, preferrably one that does not leave its own marks.  HPC offers a very effective solution with their CGIT-1O.
