SHORT JAG LOCK PICK - SouthOrd MP Series Pick

The short jag is a rake style pick with a radical pattern, which allows it to pass a lot of energy to the bottom pins as the pick is raked back and forth in the keyway.  One procedure is to begin the pick using a tool such as this, after lubricating the cylinder of course (which facilitates the very action you are attempting to produce).  An aggressive rake like this can often pick a lock in the first 1-4 passes.
